Wiki - Venue

Power

There will be no, or just a few power sockets and we will not provide power junctions in the conference halls/rooms. The electric circuits in the venue are notoriously weak and often fail.
We will however provide some power outlets in the hallway in front of the main lecture hall (Morgan Stanley Auditorium).

The power system in Austria provides 230V, 50Hz, type C and F plugs
See: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:CEE_7-17_plug_and_socket.png

We have three universal power plugs, each with 10 plugs on it. These power plugs should take all kinds of plugs (EU, UK, US, ..), but it still might be a good idea to bring your own adapter, if your laptop doesn't come with a standard C or F plug.

WLAN

The venue is completly covered with WLAN. Every attendee will get an account (userid/passwd) (this is NOT your ACT account, but yet another account).

There are 2 different kinds of networks, one more secure (but harder to set up (you'll need a certificate etc), and one easy (but you have to log in on a website. and you might have to re-login after some mount of time, we're currently trying to figure out the last details)

Here you can find detailed information on the WLAN Setup!

Lockers

There are quite a few safe lockers in the basement of the venue. Please store your valuables there. We can't guarantee the safety of you unattended belongings in the conference halls, since the venue is publicly accessible.

Internet Access

Even if you don't bring your own laptop, you can access the internet from the numerous terminals in the basement of the venue for free.
